The failure to determine the reason behind infertility does not mean the doctor can let the couple go home, having told them "Just wait, it will all work out well". Patients try hard and keep their hopes high, and then finally show up for a consultation with a fertility specialist when we already have little to offer them.
All that, given that the options we are to suggest are already clearly identified!
